Rosecomb Bantam Federation National Meet

By Steven Beaty - Outgoing - Secretary/Treasurer

Our Rosecomb National is just around the corner in Columbus Ohio at the 100th ABA National on November 7th, 8th and 9th 2014.  Our judge this year will be Jeff Halbach as selected 2 years ago by the Board of directors and because of our quick action our club was number two to pick their judge.  The club is taking donations and so far Bill Patterson is donating $200 and 5 Rosettes, Steven Beaty is donating $50.00 and Best and Reserve Junior Champion Plaques.  All donations can be sent to Sheri Pitts our new Secretary.  Last year Bill Patterson won the Tucson Arizona Rosecomb National with both Best and Reserve Champion Rosecomb and had Reserve Grand Champion of the Show.  Any meeting plans will be announced by Bill Patterson our new President at Columbus.  At this meeting the next couple of National will be decided and other business

New changes in the leadership of the Rosecomb Bantam Federation are taking the helm this year.  Bill Patterson is the new President and we would like to thank Rick Hare for his service as President.  Rick has really busy after being elected as Vice President of the ABA.  The new Secretary/Treasurer of the Rosecomb Bantam Federation is Sheri Pitts, 3821 E.  Elbow Lane, Olney, IL 62450.  618-839-3814   bspitts@ymail.com.  Sherri will do a great job and has plans on providing better service to the Rosecomb Bantam Federation members.  Please send all new and renewal memberships to Sheri and we all welcome her to the Secretary/Treasurer.  I have enclosed a bio of Sheri:  Sheri Pitts is a farm wife and mother of three daughters.  She started working in an office setting in 1989 and has held several positions as a clerical businesswoman but is currently the Richland County Extension Office Assistant.  It is actually through one of her daughters that she has been introduced to the poultry world ten years ago.  Growing up in a small town she was still far from a country girl.  Some people that knew her well did not think she would adjust, however she surprised them all with her abilities to adapt.  She has been with the Richland County Extension office since June of 2011 and shortly after starting was asked to fill in for a vacancy in the office, which she did until this February.  She enjoys fast-paced work with deadlines.  She works on newsletters, enrollments, mailing notifications and schedules to multiple groups.  Her youngest daughter has been raising Rosecombs for 3 years and enjoys showing at many local shows.

We will see all of you at our National in Columbus!
